|ME and YOU|
|My SOULGEEK Self:||
A middle-aged nerd girl who typically dresses in jeans and a nerdy T-shirt, but sometimes likes to doll it up 50's style. I ostensibly work at a small animation company, but am currently waiting to go back to work (any moment now!) after a far-too-long period of unemployment.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl literally changed my life. Because of it, I've done a little work on a couple tall ships, read a multitude of history books, moved to the UK for a year and got my MA in Maritime History, and started my podcast about the movies that influenced you to be who you are (which is now in its 5th year)!
I love attending Comic Cons all over Southern California and can often be found recording for my podcast along Artists Alley, or as a panelist talking about podcasting. I talk about podcasting a lot.
I volunteer with a surf therapy non-profit, which takes kids with special needs out to enjoy the healing power of the ocean. But, I'm a shore-based volunteer, because I saw Jaws when I was 7 years old!
I'm an avid fan of Preacher, Lodge 49, Fargo, Better Call Saul, and The Walking Dead. Among my favorite movies are Ghostbusters, Guardians of the Galaxy, Pirates of the Caribbean, Buckaroo Banzai, and The Blues Brothers. My favorite band is JD McPherson Band. My favorite authors are Douglas Adams, Joseph Heller, and Hunter S Thompson.
I spend a lot of time attending comedy shows, going to movies, and enjoying unusual events (Atlas Obscura has some awesome local outings!).
|The SoulGeek I'm Looking For:||
If you adore Comic Cons, enjoy podcasts or podcasting, read a lot, are intellectual, and enjoy attending concerts and comedy shows, we're probably going to be a good match. Please be kind, liberal in thought and politics, and understanding of my general lack of experience in dating. I'm just looking for a guy who has interests that excite him, loves going on adventures around town, enjoys weird and unusual entertainment, finds theme parks comforting, and wants to share time with someone similar.
|Ideally, if I could be any character from the worlds of Sc-Fi, Horror & Fantasy I would be:||
|But I'm probably more like:||
|In a Nutshell|
|I'm Into:||Animation, Fan Conventions, Film Scores|
|My Other Car is:||a Ghost Ship|
|Why I love Sci-Fi, Horror, Fantasy, Animation, etc...||
I love the passion and energy that pop culture creates and reflects. My geekdoms provide an outlet for my brain's desire to constantly learn and create.
|Some of my SCI-FI Favorites include:||
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Star Wars (Orson Krennic is my favorite character), Galaxy Quest, Star Trek:TNG, 2001, Buckaroo Banzai.
|Some of my FANTASY favorites include:||
Do The Muppets count as fantasy?
|Some of my HORROR favorites include:||
Not a big horror fan. I liked the 80's horror movies with a sense of humor, like Nightmare on Elm Street.
|Some of my ANIMATION-ANIME favorites include:||
Phineas & Ferb, Milo Murphy's Law, Pete the Cat (I worked on that one!), Animaniacs, Pinky & The Brain, Looney Tunes, Cars. I adore Swampy Marsh and Dan Povenmire. I have lots of friends who are voice actors and they're all awesome!
|Some of my COMIC BOOK/MANGA/WEBCOMIC favorites include:||
I love the Preacher graphic novels, but that's about it for comics.
|Some of my GAMING favorites include:||
The only video game I was ever good at was the 1980's Star Wars arcade game. Always in the top 10! Not a big board game player, but I do need someone to play Ghostbusters Monopoly with me.
|Some of my FILM, TV etc... SCORING favorites include:||
Everything by Danny Elfman, from the beginning. I attend John Williams night at the Hollywood Bowl every year. I've got a good collection of film scores from the 80's and 90's. Always love live film score concerts!
|Some of my SIGNING/AUTOGRAPH EVENT favorites include:||
I don't generally like to pay for autographs. But, I did attend a signing event that had a mini Buckaroo Banzai reunion. Paid more than made any sense for a photo with the assembled actors. Completely fan-girled Pepe Serna.
|Some of my COLLECTIBLES favorites include:||
Love my Funko Pops. I buy pretty much everything Yondu Udonta. Some day, I'll have a room dedicated just to him.
|Some of my CONVENTION favorites include:||
I love everything about comic conventions. My favorite is when I get to be on a panel about podcasting. I love recording my podcast on Artists Alley and visiting with friends who've been on in the past. It's super fun to attend panels featuring actors and creators I love.
|Some of my COSPLAY favorites include:||
I'd love to cosplay Ghostbusters. I want to do group cosplay of both Mystery Men and Time Bandits. My favorite cosplayers are always the ones who come up with really creative mash-ups.
|Some of my FAN CLUB/FAN ORGANIZATION favorites include:||
I love the 501st and all Dark Side groups. Would love to be part of one someday. Would also love to be part of a Ghostbusters group.
|My Non-Geek Stuff|
|Some of the NON-GEEK stuff I enjoy:||Travel and Day-Trips, Theme Parks, Performing Arts, Concerts, Dining Out, Trying to Take Over the World|
|I'm Looking for a:||Fan-Guy|

Digital art/writing, mostly. I've also gotten into carving wands lately...
In WonderConApr 7 2019 at 08:53pmYes, I picked up the flyer there! I've been on Match and it's pretty awful. Was hoping to find some men here who celebrate...
