|ME and YOU|
|My SOULGEEK Self:||
A lifelong nerd since the tender age of five (courtesy of Star Wars and the Pre-Disney EU), I've branched out my interests to include almost every genre known in nerd-dom, from superheroes, anthropomorphism, classical mythology and tabletop RPGs all the way to cyberpunk, steampunk, (a tiny foray into) anime/manga and cosmic horror, though I can be picky regarding what media I consume, I prefer the classic heroic and villainous archetypes, and worldbuilding of practically any kind - the intricacies of the fictional worlds we enjoy building are far more fascinating then anything the real world has to offer.
|The SoulGeek I'm Looking For:||
A patient, fellow scholar who loves learning in general or a loyal, outgoing tomboy to bring me out of my shell would be my top two decisions. I must warn you, though, I'm mostly very quiet except when talking about subjects that interest me, as a result of almost lifelong, largely self-imposed isolation. I'm often sarcastic, I am naturally pessimistic even if you manage to get close to me, in addition to my being a shut-in with poor social skills - you have been warned. Whatever woman will approach me, if any, I hope you'll be patient enough to work around my many eccentricities.
|Ideally, if I could be any character from the worlds of Sc-Fi, Horror & Fantasy I would be:||
Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Jean-Luc Picard, Qui-Gon Jinn, Batman/Bruce Wayne
|But I'm probably more like:||
Igor (Persona 2-4), Anakin Skywalker, Gavin Darklighter, Bilbo Baggins, Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze
|In a Nutshell|
|I'm Into:||Science Fiction, Fantasy, Animation, Anime, Comic Books, Webcomics, Table Top Gaming, Costumes and Cosplay, Fan-Fic, Fan-Art, Collectibles|
|My Other Car is:||Equipped with a Flux-Capacitor|
|Why I love Sci-Fi, Horror, Fantasy, Animation, etc...||
See above: I'm been in love with making fictional worlds ever since I first watched the classic Star Wars trilogy in the early nineties.
|Some of my SCI-FI Favorites include:||
Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager and Pre-Disney Star Wars, in general. However, I enjoy reading and imagining the various forms of worldbuilding that have emerged into this genre over its history. I enjoy one-shot/anthology stories, especially with philosophy thrown in to enhance the worldbuilding in question. I'll read almost any bit of sexuality-free worldbuilding I can get my hands on, so long as the descriptions are of a decent quality.
|Some of my FANTASY favorites include:||
General sword-and-sorcery fantasy, its history and the worldbuilding offered are what I enjoy the most from this genre. D&D and related tabletop games have always served as the primary fuel for this aspect of my imagination.
I also am a great fan of mythology from practically every culture.
|Some of my HORROR favorites include:||
Cosmic horror and an occasional zombie story are the only two subjects I've ever delved into in this genre. Lovecraft, to this day, is the only horror author I've ever liked. It's not my top genre.
|Some of my ANIMATION-ANIME favorites include:||
I consume animation of almost any kind as often as I am able to do so. Though I have barely looked into anime as a whole, the works of Osamu Tezuka are my number one pick in this genre. Otherwise, the only other two series I've delved into are Spice and Wolf and Cowboy Bebop - I honestly don't know what to look for/where to begin in this HUGE, nigh all-encompassing genre.
Also, Batman: TAS is a personal favorite for its delightful morality tales and touches of psychology.
|Some of my COMIC BOOK/MANGA/WEBCOMIC favorites include:||
Used to like Marvel, especially Spider-Man, before the SJWs took it over. Now I focus exclusively on the worldbuilding of DC and particularly on the antics of Batman. If that should ever fail, indie/small company creators will have my full support - we'll always have plenty to fall back on.
|Some of my GAMING favorites include:||
Anything with good, classical storylines, characterization, and worldbuilding. I'm not picky as long as the story is good.
|Some of my FILM, TV etc... SCORING favorites include:||
Classic Six Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
|Some of my SIGNING/AUTOGRAPH EVENT favorites include:||
Never bothered to try attending anything like this.
|Some of my COLLECTIBLES favorites include:||
I just love to see good craftsmanship of famous characters and their exploits. I'm a huge fan of ventriloquism and puppetry, personally, but that's a separate niche, I think... One that's not as popular as you'd think among nerds.
|Some of my CONVENTION favorites include:||
I don't bother with them - I've never had the opportunity to attend one, and I currently don't have much interest in doing so.
|Some of my COSPLAY favorites include:||
While I've never bothered trying it (yes, I'm a lazy shut-in), I do enjoy admiring pretty girls and marveling over the intricacies of various characters and the worldbuilding elements that go into each character's costume. While its not emphasized too much in cosplay as a whole and most people don't have the time for it, examining a character's moral philosophy is a great deal of fun to do alongside admiring the costume.
|Some of my FAN CLUB/FAN ORGANIZATION favorites include:||
Socially-awkward grouch that I am, I don't bother with these elements of fandom hardly at all.
