Goddammit, I’m exhausted.
Hi, kids!
I know I’ve been kinda falling down on the updates lately, and it started with the piece of hard calcium working its way through my innards (thankfully gone now.) I really haven’t caught up to my 3-a-week goal in months, and now I have to make it official for awhile and dial back to two. I have made allusions to my day job from time to time, but the company, unlike many others in this cruddy economy, is growing and expanding like crazy. As a result, my department is a total victim of our success. Not to bore the crap out of you with shop talk, but I’ve been working crazy hours as well as interviewing applicants and all kinds of nuts stuff and I am just frigging tired. So, we’ll be going back to Tuesday and Friday for the next two or three months, at least. One thing I think this will allow me to do is get back to some of the smaller projects and get some gallery stuff and some desktops and maybe even continue “Mr Downtown” now and again.
So - sorry, but these are the conditions that prevail.
Warmest regards,
JED

JED, don’t you worry! Your health is the most important thing, and your day job obviously takes preference. We’ll be here, taking the strips as we get them! Take your time, and don’t burn yourself out!

Without artist comic can t continue so yeah your survival is basic need for us.

Hey, with the way this economy has been, and still is, we’re just glad our favorite artist has a job and is healthy enough to work it. Two strips a week is fine. Don’t try to overdo.

Hey, we are fortunate indeed to share your world, so please just stay well and happy and we’ll be here!

I say: “Don’t rush the artist !”
Also “Thanks” and “Good job”.

Yes; this is quite all right. And the current page came not long at all after its predecessor.

Gall Dang it! I want NINE updates a week, but considering the quality of your offering, I’ll feel blessed with the 2 a eek you can manage AND I’m so glad your in the upswing part of the economy, to many of my favorite comic creators are working day and night just to pay for the web site.
I’ve been with Zona since about page 5….I’ll be here till the end, though I’d like to see everyone else who isn’t voting, to do so, as more people will see ZONA in the TWC site too (http://inkoutbreak.com is a good place too, if you’d post ZONA there also!)

Don’t you worry about us, JED. The true-blue fans will understand and say “Of course you need to think of your health and job first!”. Anybody who says different isn’t a fan at all.

Looking at the projections for what the drought’s gonna do to our economy out here, yeah, I’m joining the chorus about a good job coming first. Besides, I do want to see where you’re going with Mister Downtown.

All I can do is echo all of the above, JED. Your health and welfare is always first and foremost. Take care of those and everything else will fall into place as it should. We’ll be waiting for Whatever your schedule allows. Thanks for all your work. Be well.

Do what you have to Jed, I’ll just be glad as long as you do get a chance to update every once in a while.
August 11th, 2012 at 5:29 am
Not to worry. Two updates a week is fine. They’re better than none, for example. Your job comes first, at least until Peter Jackson comes knocking on your door with a contract for a Zona movie trilogy that will net you millions. ^^

Your continued success will benefit us all in the long run. Keep up the good work.

To echo the general sentiment above me - It’s all good.
Two updates a week is fine by me. I’d rather you look after you and keep doing this for years to come than upset an apple cart. Real Life (TM) always takes precedence. Two updates and the odd ’side project’ means I’ll be one happy camper. Still loving your work.

You do what you have to do Jed…. Your work is worth waiting for. And you have to keep body and soul together (i.e. Real life takes priority…) so don’t sweat having to cut back…. patience is something I learned long ago

Other people have already said so, but it bears repeating. You’ve always given us & your characters quality work. We want you to continue being healthy & sane, and keep delivering the same quality you can be proud of. Thanks for all the years, and keep up the great work!

You are all far more wonderful than I deserve. But I am grateful. Very grateful for you all.
Herzliche Dank,
JED

Honestly, I’m more concerned about knowing when to expect updates than how many there are. As they taught us in EMS school, your physical needs come first.

I’m happy for you, your company, and people who’re actually getting hired. Besides, with the kind of stuff you output, I thought three was pushing it, anyway. I assume you have, like, you know, a life, and want to enjoy it some. Two a week is great!

Two updates a week?
You think that is slow????
I read “Pawn”. A D&D style comic by F KC Anderson. (Have a look, it is very good).
We have been waiting for the next update since MAY 2012.
Waiting a few DAYS for an update, or getting 2 updates a week is a god send.
As the little voices in my cat’s head used to say.. “Waiting for Quality is not a wait. it is an honour.” (Or was that just Meeoowww??)

As one of those who contributed funds to the three day a week updates, all I have to say is: “Meh. Life happens.”
Whatever comes our way, happy happy. Take your time, do it right; little else matters.
God Bless.
