And this is where that blonde bedwarmer dude dying becomes an issue…
..I think. I’m not very good at predictions so we’ll see.
July 17th, 2010 at 2:19 am
The plot thickens…
July 17th, 2010 at 3:02 am
Ahh Tethik, how we have missed thee!
July 17th, 2010 at 3:20 am
Looks like King Tor’s nephew has a couple of shiners courtesy of Tethik. A broken nose- the gift that keeps on giving.
July 17th, 2010 at 4:32 am
Why am I not surprised that Yanora has had…relations with the king of the Bull Tribe? Hmm, then again, he’s almost certainly not the only Erogenian man to have sampled her “gifts”-I may be a hetero male, but even I can see how she’d consider Erogenian men to be quite attractive-probably more so than the average Kevalian male.
After all, Yanora’s almost Erogenian in her sexual proclivities.
July 17th, 2010 at 4:40 am
And yeah, I think news of the death of Tethik’s Erogenian bedpartner beat him to the Bull Tribe stronghold, and it looks like that’s bad news for Tethik. After all, it’s been made to look like he did it, and any free family of the victim will no doubt be seeking blood vengeance-in other words, a piece of Tethik’s hide. Looks like his “friend”, the Bull Tribe king (I forget his name) either feels he can’t be seen supporting the “murderer” of a fellow Erogenian, or thinks Tethik may be guilty and feels no obligation to stop the “justice” he may feels Tethik rightly deserves.
Good thing Tethik knows how to fight. Looks like he’s gonna need those skills again real soon.

The plot thickens! Nice job JED…
July 17th, 2010 at 6:15 am
I have to admit, I am snickering a bit at the king of the Bull Tribe, who certainly lives up to the title of Bull King. Or possibly down. He isn’t just open about sex, he’s a gossip sheet about it. *snicker*
And it is indeed good to see Tethik again. I hope we will see him meet Zona and the others sometime soon.
July 17th, 2010 at 7:47 am
It’s possible he’s referring to the young blond that died in his bed chamber, but I seem to recall queen Yanora and Tethik talking about some “event” that happened long ago between Tethik and the bull tribe king. Sorry, I’m not going to look it up right now. heh.
So who knows, an wrinkle from the past, or a wrinkle from the present. Either way, Tethik has problems.
July 17th, 2010 at 9:13 am
I just might have to start working my way back through the archives, I am not as attached to details as I wish I were!
July 17th, 2010 at 9:32 am
I don’t know about anyone else but when I saw that we were no longer in Kivalia it was like a boon to my eyes and my soul. I really didn’t enjoy my stay and am very glad to leave it behind. It’s all too… politically backstabby. Also on the plus side we now know that king Tor swings both ways. With one sentence of info too, nicely done John.
July 17th, 2010 at 2:07 pm
Ah yes, King Tor. good to see he likes the warring. with Gorshash around they’ll need many warriors. Good to see Tethik again too. hope he meets up with Zona soon.
July 17th, 2010 at 3:47 pm
I’ll say it again, King Tor would be well-played by John Rhys-Davies.
Can’t remember if JED agreed with me or not. >.<
Besides, you don’t get to be chief-in-charge of a pretty important clan without some skills at politics or cracking heads, amirite?
July 17th, 2010 at 11:23 pm
anyone get the impression the king actually wishes Tethik well, but feels his hands are tied, by tradition or politics? Might even like and respect him. Certainly wouldn’t have to explain himself if he didn’t.
July 18th, 2010 at 12:38 am
@Sleepinin yes, I also have John Rhys-Davies’ voice in my head when I read King Tor’s lines.
@Ed Yes, I do too. I believe this is the past incident that Tethik was afraid would get him “spitted by barbarians.” Yanora called it a ‘falling out’ with King Tor. Tethik called it a ‘trifle.’ Here’s the page…

Thank you JED for the return of Tethik. And as others have already said… “The plot thickens.” I can’t wait for the next update.
July 18th, 2010 at 3:51 am
What the… Does anyone else see that message in the gutter between panels 5 & 7? Is that supposed to be there?
July 18th, 2010 at 2:15 pm
@Kosine yes & yes
July 19th, 2010 at 12:03 am
Sleepenin Wrote: I’ll say it again, King Tor would be well-played by John Rhys-Davies.
I already hear John’s masterful voice intoning his dialogue.
July 19th, 2010 at 5:22 am
I don’t know how Jed does it. The pressure of a making a storyline and working it from week to week with the added pressure of rabid fans waiting for the next one would really make me…excited or insane.
July 19th, 2010 at 9:55 am
firstly thanks Lebbrin for the link , much appreciated.
I guess the mere trifle is not as Queen Yanora correctly supposed a mere trifle in the eyes of the Bull king.Plus perhaps , the demise of young Blondie has to do with it as well.
Poor Tethik, seems that there are troubling days ahead..
JED masterclass as usual.

Hevaess - The rumor of Hentic’s fate is unlikely to have reached the Bull Tribe ahead of Tethik, but then he did delay getting out of town long enough to set Morcai the task of getting Hentic’s family out of town, so possibly.
VGA Ubersoldat - Like oatmeal.
Landau - And this will, I hope, be an interesting interlude for all, even though nobody is smacking each other around … yet.
Elizabeth - Oh, yes, Donnil has some nice bruises, though the actual broken bones and gross trauma have already been healed courtesy of the shaman.
The Macnut - You shouldn’t be, though the circumstances are a little less sordid than you might expect. It was shortly after Kendrik died, and she was feeling very vulnerable. Tor was visiting and was actually kind to her, after his fashion. Tor, like most Erogenians, is *very* bold in his love affair with life. To coin a phrase, he didn’t buy into her bullshit, and drew her out hunting and to other physical activities in the light of day when she was wont to sit in the dark. Eventually they fucked like bunnies in the forest, and she and he have been good friends ever since.
Fred - Thank you!
The Old Hack - Understand that in this country it is not “gossip” to talk about how good someone else is in the sack. It’s good manners to compliment anyone on something that they do well, and BJs are absolutely included.
Balkin - Tor and Tethik have known each other for over twenty years as friends and sometime lovers. That type of close relationship is definitely ripe for incidents of all kinds.
Karyl - Yes you will, dogonnit!
Someguy - I appreciate that. Definitely a murkier place with nastier people and tangled issues. Here we are most definitely in the daylight, and, to a very great degree, WYSIWYG.
ICEKAT - Tor is an interesting guy. His beer gut did not come from being at war, but rather from enjoying the peace. Like all of the tribes, the Bull Tribe has economically prospered in the last two decades. Tor is no fool so he recognizes that being rich is better than being poor, and having the chance to grow old is also a good thing, in general. However, he himself is personally displeased with the terms of the peace that marked the River Urit as the eastern boundary that they could not cross. The Bull Tribe has territory on the river itself, and suffered tremendously from pradations of the Urtts, and so any chance to go head-hunting (literally) has always been welcome in his hall.
Sleepinin - Yes, I believe that was my first comment on introducing the character.
Ed - See above. He and Tethik are old friends. Unlikely even a Kivalian count could get away with affectionately referring to His Majesty as “Old Bull” if they weren’t.
Lebbrin - Thanks! Hopefully the next update will be tonight. I would like to continue uninterrupted, but with Comicon I may need to take a little break …
Kosine - That’s just my little joke. I started doing that awhile back.
Addup2 - &yes.
Jim Farris - Always was my intention.
VGA Ubersoldat - Well, I am having a pretty good time, actually.
warnie - There’ll be some reveal tomorrow!
July 19th, 2010 at 5:29 pm
i disagree i think BARRAMORE should play king tor
July 24th, 2010 at 4:56 pm
Yeah, King Tor and Tethik are back!
And so am I.
