   Eh, like Vito said, life is composed of good times AND bad-can’t have one without the other. Mentl’s already experienced some of the bad in this world; the Urrts, the Fire Tribe Prince, etc, but it looks like the good has far outweighed the bad so far.

   We’ll see what happens when Shuach and Gorshash come back for Round Two.

   One of the scariest phrases in the whole comic. It had me hanging at the edge of my chair until Vito explained what he meant.

   “Go to bed” lol he has started going all father-like to Mentl, hasn’t he? I wonder who else’s voice is he going to hear.

   I hope the “You will [wake up], sooner or later” is referring more to an end to this dreamlike state than going home. Perhaps something as simple as the “magic” wearing off as he finally gets the hang of his powers and gets used to this world, or something more dramatic and tragic cementing this as reality.

    I really enjoy how different we all read Vito’s comment on waking up. To me his use of the word “life”, to me it was more a general, philosophic observation on the fleeting nature of all things in life, and indeed, of life itself. Obi-Wan had a few of those too, I think. Anyway, it’s a good sign when there are so many obviously valid interpretations.

    It’s true, gotta have the good and the bad. After all, without the bad we wouldn’t really appreciate the good, and without the good, the bad would just crush us all. Balance is the key, just like with almost everything else.

    Lebbrin-it was Tula who said that. Not sure the page, but it was when the two kids vaulted onto Zona’s hands and then she catapulted them up into the air. Mentl had a WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!! moment, and Tula stated that they do not fear broken bones, etc. They live, because of their past and present, because they do not fear to live because they’ll break a bone.

    And loving the Star Wars, JED!! “Are you going to Obi-Wan me?” You just turned Obi-Wan into an adjective, hehehe. I’m guessing that Mentl will have in the flesh teachers to teach him stuff, and Vito will appear to help with any explanations that don’t cross over into the frame of reference/frame of mind that Mentl (and the rest of us) grew up with.

    And even if my “spider sense” doesn’t come true, that three days later Gorshash will show up all broken and asking for help, or is better and shows up with an army….learning to control his powers-when we know he grew up with no sense of magic at all-is going to be tough. He’ll have to have that talk with Ipola at some point-I’m guessing also with the priestess at least present-which will turn awkward soon into the conversation. Then he might still have some lingering doubts about what he did to Ginsha that could possibly come out when he’s being taught how to do this. Oh, and he might not even be able to be taught more than the basics until they can find an actual chanter/enchanter like Mentl is. And if he can get Ipola “rawring” to go after a “nice, simple” song-and he was just thinking of Zona possibly-well…it might get someone else ensnared and that will not be fun.

    Good question on the book, but somehow I doubt it, because those were languages from Mentl’s world. When we see the page changing from one set of characters to another, the first set were nordic runes and the second set were chinese ideograms.

    Well, Vito knows all about stuff in our world, so he’l obviously from our world. Maybe the path Mentl is going down now was once trod by Vito? Will Mentl some day end up in the limbo place? Are Mentl and Vito heroes of renown, come every thousand years to strike down a rising evil that threatens the world, as the prophecy spoke of?

    Well, technically we only know that Vito has been to our world. He did say something about having been to many dimensions, and He told Tula that Erogenia isn’t his home dimension.
