Oh my, things are starting to heat up. And I’m not talking about the fire ;) Nice work JE, you’ve got the ladies looking scrumptious.

OK, who’s head is going to explode first, Mentl or Boric?

  3. The MacNut
    April 9th, 2010 at 10:19 pm

Depends, which head are you talking about? ;) ;)

    *BAD MacNut! BAD!*

It’s okay Mac, I was thinking the same thing. Mentl’s definatly feeling the magic. ALSO notice how now the ladies’ words are no longer in speech bubbles? Like the drum music?

That’s the same style we’ve seen with Mentl’s magic lyrics

    WOW!
    That first frame is unbelievable,

Can you feel the love tonig….nah…this is gonna be something else entirely ; )

I haven’t seen such a great love of equals since Benedick and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing. This is a thoroughly enjoyable and unique comic.

Excellent as always JED. As a musician myself, I must say thanks for fixing the Taka’s. I was also trying to get the signature from the last page and now it, and this one, flow very nice. Of course, I had to get past the ladies to notice that. :D

Anyway, I’m voting as fast as I can. great work!

I love that sheer chiffon skirt the lady on the far right is wearing, first panel. Nicely rendered.

Actually, Jean, I’m pretty sure that’s Tula.

I think the boys minds have gone on a vacation! This reminds me of what Robin Williams once said: “God gave men both a penis and a brain, but unfortunately not enough blood supply to run both at the same time.”
Somehow that quote seems to fit the situation quite well ;)

Judging by the angle of her head, Tula appears to be looking at the blond ponytailed guard, not Boric. I would be, too.

AdamZero has the right of it. We are definitely looking at a magical influence here. Earlier Tula stated the the dance “had its’ own magic”. This just keeps getting better and better.

Ok, going back to ogling Tulas’ french-cut clad tuchus now.

Awesome dance JE, all the ladies look great and the chanting is almost audible. Love the hard work put into this, and tula’s skirt besides…

Nice work with the first panel Je you did a great job capturing an action shot.

I love Mentl’s slightly stoned face. I’m going to have to hunt down the “Sisters” page to get a comparison; I think this one might actually outdo it.

incredible page Jed ^_^, the way the drum flows with the lyrics, it makes me want to get the drum out lol.

Hmmmm, what I like most about this comic page is… how what you show and the poses chosen very much conveys the movement and action of the scene.

Okay, so - Panel 4. Official move, or a lil’ improv from Zona?

  22. Lora
    April 10th, 2010 at 3:13 pm

Excellent page, JED. :D And the first panel is really lovely.

    April 10th, 2010 at 5:39 pm

hmm, I wonder why “Bootylicious” started going through my head at the first panel ;)

    April 10th, 2010 at 10:49 pm

not only you tricksterson , not only you ;)
    brilliant as usual JED.

    Nice work with the lighting.
And you can definitely feel the beat.

Boob grab? Not sure what’s going on there.

Mentl, a word of advice, tell Zona she was the only one dancing…

JED - Beautiful! The ladies are so graceful and yet - at the same time - I can feel the beat and hip thrusts. Altho’ I’d like to know where that lady on Zona’s left came from in the first panel. You cheated a bit there - but it’s all good - that puts Zona in the center of panel 1. I’ll just pretend she jumped into the dance late.

I second the masterly handling of Tula’s sheer skirt - I’m going to assume that was at least a little bit tough - even tho’ you keep saying you just pose them. However, I’m surprised at Mentl’s crows feet - yeak - firelight can kinda emphasize that sort of thing, but he looks like his 10 years older than Zona - maybe even closer to her mother’s age. I’m just going to choose to believe that OUR world was highly stressful to his him - after all, living in your car ought to stress out anyone.

    April 11th, 2010 at 11:28 pm

@Hwyla: I have the impression that there are women spaced all the way around the fire, so the one on Zona’s left was always there, but just outside the frame before.

Damn, great page! I like the feeling of the night.
What are they wearing? I want one of these suits! (Or I’d want if I had somewhere to wear it :p)

Soulworker, I think it’s more of a “Shake Your Groove Thing” than “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” No mice were involved in this production, after all. :)

    April 13th, 2010 at 6:56 am

I think it’s a nice juxtapositon going where Zona is holding her chest and in the next frame, Mentl’s got a goofy look on his face.

I almost missed the text just under the first panel. Had to adjust Gama to read it too. I thinh the answer is: Ah, work it all baby! (work, work) Well, you’re drivin’ me crazy.

  35. Mish_Lady
    April 13th, 2010 at 9:38 am

JED, very nice! I also like the sheerness of Tula’s skirt. You definitely have the hang of posing now!

Hwyla, I also think it is partly stress from our world, and the stress of not only adjusting to the world he’s in now, but most likely killing his first person. Well, if you can call Ginsha a “person.” I also got the feeling that Mentl is a true gentleman, and the fact that he beat a woman (possibly to her death) really got to him. Also, the idea that he has this powerful magick that he has inside of him must also be a shocker.

I guess I’m showing my age, but the song that first panel brought to mind for me was “Hippy Hippy Shake”. I love the exchange of looks between the ladies and men, too. Great strip.

I also noticed something-not many Ergonian men seem to have beards. Some do, of course, but….Mentl seems to be one of the few-if not the only-one with facial fuzz.
