Jean - I can’t imagine not being able to come up with a long form ongoing storyline and still keep it fresh and interesting. If your characters have depth, eventually they start writing themselves. My example in the mainstream media is “Gunsmoke.” 27 fucking years using the same basic bible, experimenting with new characters, developing and expanding the star characters but always coming back to home with Matt, Doc and Miss Kitty. (and Chester and later Festus) 27 years people kept tuning in to get entertained. It was formulaic, but it was a good formula. And they never ran out of ideas.

Kaila - Okay, how many times do you need - really NEED - to kill the slayer and have her resurrected? Or, for that matter, how many times do we need to see Xena crucified? Jeeeeeeeze ….

Sarge - Oh. I wouldn’t really. It’s like calisto says - technically against the rules.

calisto - Yes, when it finally gets done, you will. There will be the first 48 pages or so, reworked and reformatted as well as a bonus story that will be exclusively for the print version.

Amber Thompson - Well, thanks! Technically I did not draw it - it was just puppeteered, as it were then fixed a bit in p-shop. But thank you so much.

Wysiwig - Well, so am I, but I always loved the fireworks in the opening of that show. A little not-too-subtle reminder that the show was basically an anthology of sex comedy.

Incidentally, there are a few good Buffy moments later in the series after Buffy dies…again…(though I still kinda wish she stayed dead), my personal favourite being with Xander, after he has yet another Demon chick try and do nasty things to him, he gets sick of demons and women in general and goes to Will “I’m going gay. I’ve decided I’m turning gay. Willow, gay me up. Come on, let’s gay.”. There’s more to it, but I missed it the first time around as I was too busy laughing my arse off.

JED, you have my sympathies on the plot-bunny problem. I don’t have a hutch of them. I don’t have a queue. I did–for a short period of time–have a refugee camp…but they filed for city status and have since become the thriving, bustling, nose-wriggling megahopolis of Plot Bunny City, which is now roughly 1/3rd the size of NYC.
