Sick. Sooooo Sick.
Thought I’d get the update out today - know you all are waiting for it, and mucho sorry-o, but I have the worst cold I’ve had in all my *hurhumhuurrrum* years.
Totally missed New Years and everything. Hack - Coff -Snorf-Spit-Splurt! Such fun.
Had my rough layout out, opened the file in Poser. Stared at it for about twenty minutes until I guess my mouse hand fell asleep or something. Gave up.
Hopefully tomorrow night. Meantime, as promised, a new vote incentive.

Boy I know how that is-especially the hacking-up-the-disgusting-phlegm part. I hacked up stuff a day or so ago that made me wonder if I should check myself in at the ER, it was that horrible. Thankfully, I’m better now.
Rest up JE, we’ll be here, checking in periodically.

Take it easy, JE. Your health comes first and Zona is worth waiting for. Take good care of yourself and get better soon!

Swine flu! Swine fluuuuuuuuu!!!

Get well soon John!

I’ve spent the last three days sick in bed, with what appears to be the same cold you’ve got. Lot of it going around. Only thing that cures it is time.
Best wishes. Get well.

Home made chicken soup, help you feel better and sleep. Something about the warmth and such. Some rice, celery perhaps a few carrots. That and tons of tylanol severe cold.
Hope you feel better.

Just hope you will be well soon, but it’s best to be sure you are 100% ok before you do too much.

My sister makes some truly rich chicken soup. She takes a whole chicken and boils it to get all the juice out of it. Then she fishes the carcass out and sets it aside. Then she puts the second whole chicken in to stew while pulling the meat of the first chicken’s bones. When the second one is done, she pulls it out to get the meat off its bones. Then she freezes one chicken worth of meat, dumps the other back in the stock and adds her veggies and spices. Double good rich chicken broth.
Oh yeah, fattening as heck too, but a lot of nutrition in a little bit of broth.

Don’t worry about us, we’re not going anywhere. Just rest up and don’t relapse later.

You are all loves. thanks so much for all the lovely good wishes and thoughts and recipes.
My ex-wife makes chicken soup in very much the way that Kamatu’s sister does. Makes me sorry I fucked that up now, eh? Ah, well.
Hopefully page 335 will update on Tuesday. Gonna go back tot he doc and complain that his stuff didn’t cure me, so hopefully I’ll get the magick pills and be on top again. In the mean time, there’s Sailor Jerry’s Rum.
January 4th, 2010 at 12:58 pm
Mix that (the sailor Jerry’s rum) with some tea and lemon and you got a pretty potent drink.
1.) brew a cup of tea, about twice as strong as you normally like it.
2.) add in a capful of conecntrated lemon juice (or 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon.
3.) add 1-1/2 shot if rum of chioce. (I use Bacardi 151)
4.) add honey to sweeten to taste.
Very potent, after about 3 you don’t care how you feel.
It’s helped me through several bouts of bronchitis, laryngitis, and head colds.

In my household, miso soup is the cure-all for colds. Something about that nice salty taste soothes the throat and the seaweed can’t help but up your mineral intake.
Still, Darren41’s brew certainly has its points of interest…

My favorite for sore or irritated throat is genmai cha. The toasted rice must provide some soothing gelatinous starches. Go to the doctor if it gets too bad, okay?

Darren41, I like your medicine. All I have to offer is some homemade Turkey noodle soup.
January 7th, 2010 at 12:52 pm
LOL, thanks. I’m not sure what the true medicinal value is, but it does help to clear up laryngitis quite handily. It’s a very soothing tonic, and easy to get more down the patitent
