Right now I am posting to you and rendering on a new HP with a 2.4Ghz AMD quad-core processor, 8GB of RAM and a nice 750G hard drive. I also am looking at this on a new 23inch widescreen monitor. All of which you guys helped me buy. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I still hate Vista, but that’s not your fault. And I am hoping we can do something about that, too, soon.

I hate Vista, but Windows 7 is so much better than Vista even though it is still in release candidate. If you aren’t completely restricted to Windows consider dual booting Ubuntu Linux.

If You’re ever in NorCal, I work at an Apple store. One of the things to think about is a Hackintosh. RUnning Leopard OS X on a PC. But I’m also betting you have a bunch of $$ sunk into software. GOod Luck, and thanks for all the fun stuff!

Now, as soon as you can afford it, sink a hundred-odd into a terabyte backup drive. One of the USB 2 stand-alones will do it. And back up frequently.
