   I did not expect Mentl to be ignored much longer by the bad guys, great page as usual!

   I just wish I knew what song our friend has thought for his next act.

   I kinda expected a double quote bubble with the jagged urtt language bubble surrounding the word ‘owner’.

   Still, awesome page.

   And on that thought, JD’s had all sorts of bubble styles… I wonder what the moon lanuage bubble’d be like… or is that what Tula’s chanting?

   Interesting - G’s face seems to be showing a deep toll this magic is taking on him. Wonder how long he can keep it up?

   Jim, that’s a good point. If Shauch’s power is based on blood and has the general toll of ‘dark’ magick yeah, he’s feeling the burn. But his mid chant and Tula’s building orb from below make me think he’s gonna bust out something heavy/Run/Get cut off.

   Didn’t I just see a big thrill grin on Zona as she finally got to open a can of scalybutt-kicking? Now look at Tula. Tell me these two ain’t sistahs. When Mentl finishes mowing down the shooting gallery behind them and turns to add his whammy to Tula’s…just do as the girl tells ya, son.

   Somebody was singing “Ice Ice Baby”. Are these lizard-boyz warm or cold blooded?

   That’d be awesome of that other enchanter has bowie’s hair. (look on the map there’s a tower of some enchanter dude.)

   Would “Holding out for a Hero” Cause help to appear? Or a power up for him I wonder? I also wonder if Black Sabbath’s “Iron man” would make him into a sort of super warrior, but beserk if he tried it.

   I’m still waiting for “Another One Bites the Dust”…machine guns ready ta go… =D It is interesting that G’s focus so rapidly shifted form Tulla to Mentl…(Given what we know about his now hatred for her). He may really perceive Mentl to be a much more significant threat… But as JED noted on the last page…Mentl is still in the development phase…very interesting. And another awesome page… =)

    The variety that Mentl has to pick from is a bit on the overwhelming side. How about Kansas’ Lightning Hand (which could be both an attack and defense spell with a movement (flight) component available). Dust in the Wind could be a stealth movement, time alteration spell or attack spell (”all *you* are is dust in the wind”).

    BTW, don’t get stuck on Ironman, there are a *lot* of Black Sabbath songs available for use. Think about Wizard, a large change environment, protection and/or mass buff spell. Heh, going through Sabbath’s lyrics (at least to just past Ozzy), if Mentl can use snips of songs to get his effects, there are tons of really nasty things he could do using them.

    Oh, do I move on to other bands too?

    I think Tula knew that G would try to attack Mentle while he was focus on something else… Get the quick kill and all that…..

    Oh and I love the magic effects… ever think of doing a small movie or something like that?

    Figures that as soon as Mentl reveals himself as being dangerous, Gorshash would take a shot at him. Good thing Tula was watching Mentl’s back, ’cause I don’t think Mentl would have been able to stop G’s attack spell.

    And it looks like G and Tula’s battle is about to go into high gear…

    Jorge, You got that right - and you’ll just have to wait and see like everybody else. Nonetheless, the offer still stands: If any one of you gets one of the songs Mentl uses, there’s a little something for you - after he uses it. Now, I will say that this is written out for many months in advance, so you’ll have to take my word that I’m not cheating. I already know the next four or five that I’m gonna use.

    AdamZero, thanks! And I do use different balloon styles to denote different language and stuff, but didn’t feel like going crazy with bubbles in bubbles. The blue balloons are indicative of Tula’s Moon magick, but the language itself is Ancient Erogenian, which she speaks fluently, and phrases of which still survive, almost unchanged, in modern Erogenian speech, such as “cha na aman” for “from the heart.” You also noted that Keltan referred to Zona as “Suvremana Zona” which is her formal title. It’s the ancient way of denoting “princess.”
    Jim Farris, Actually, Gorshash is fine - he’s just really pissed and frustrated now, and really just wants to eliminate the unforeseen variable as fast as possible.
    PoserNieub, oh, yeah - she’s so over this whole “being carried around and not able to cast magick” thing. At heart they’re both action gals, and that shit got old really fast. Urtts are warm-blooded mammal-like reptiles.

    KoalaKnight, thanks a heap! “Genius” over here can’t even remember to take out the trash on time, but thanks all the same.

    Soulworker, thanks so much - and I don’t know what I’ll do when Mentl finally busts out that much-ballyhooed Queen song - It won’t be this time, though.

    Kamatu, Just as a storyteller, I NEED that depth of choice just to make sure I always have something that’s appropriate to the needs of the moment. As I said, for now, Mentl is going to have to be more literal with the lyrics he uses in order to get what he wants.

    melon, I want to do animation, definitely. But unfortunately just putting out the few still images in the two pages per week is taxing on my time and resources.

    For some strange reason I just have a feeling you will be using MC hammer’s hit “can’t touch this” for a defensive spell or some part of it “Go Hammer Go Hammer” for a nice blunt force attack. Just rattling.

    Besides the combat music speculation, you guys might give some thought to what Mentl’s going to do next time he’s in a situation that calls for him to play purely for entertainment. An obvious move would be to try an instrumental such as “Jessica,” but that’s hard to render in a comic. So he’d need a song which has lyrics, but they don’t say anything that could cause trouble.

    I hear ya Looney-he starts playing another love song and the end result could be a fight to the death between Zona and any other woman who is, shall we say, “stimulated” by his performance.

    Especially since his next performance is most likely to be in Erogenia. If the Moon Tribe princesses are any indication of how…”free spirited” the average Erogenian woman is, his next performance of a love song in front of that audience will be interesting, to say the least.

    @Rocko; Since intent has a lot to do with it, He could perform for entertainment by simply channelling any magical power he generates into illusions of what he’s singing about instead of actual dangerous effects.

    Ah, the things your imaginations conjures up when thinking “what would such-and-such song invoke?”

    Could he summon a crime-fighting canine with this?

    Matti, Yeah, looks *very* cool - but I literally cannot play games like Half-Life. When I do, I lose the whole rest of my life. It’s not pretty seeing a grown man jumping up and down in fury and frustration because his little 3D puppet got killed by a 3D puppet monster controlled by a computer that’s only about as smart as a grasshopper … ;o)
