I knew Tula wouldn’t put on the kinda light-show she did on the last page just for Vito. Only her brand-new ARCH-NEMESIS would merit such a display.
And the ARCH, of course, has bought friends-or goons, depending on how you want to look at it. And one of the goons is a half-Urrt half-ogre, eh?
Boy, Urrts will rape anything won’t they? Speaking of half-Urrt products of rape, let’s see if Ginsha’s still alive…
May 15th, 2009 at 1:44 am
Hrrmpf .. Tuesday.
NOW.
Plz?
May 15th, 2009 at 1:47 am
Well, maybe an Ogre is just the Urt version of a Giant?
No doubt JE will clear that one up soon.
May 15th, 2009 at 2:23 am
Boy it’s been a while since i commented, but i decided to drop back in!
Well it awesome too see you made great advancement JE.
Story has been awesome so far! I’m glad Tula is powered up again.
Hmm what will Mentl do?
May 15th, 2009 at 2:32 am
Oh, I don’t know, it’s been a while, maybe it is time for our famous Zona challenging swordsman to show up again. I’ll bet he is actually competent as a warrior and probably retrained to be a loyal companion, but I don’t know how we will get past the “not the sharpest knife in the drawer” problem.
May 15th, 2009 at 5:42 am
Well, this should be interesting. Love the pyrotechnics, by the way. I love how Zona can finish Mentl’s sentences now.
May 15th, 2009 at 7:46 am
So how exactly did the Urts get there? Didn’t Mentl fuse the cave shut?
May 15th, 2009 at 8:00 am
Love the sneer on Tula’s face! Personally, I think Tula is the best character in the series, she’s smart, worldly, beautiful with a more realistic body than anyone else. (I’m a tit man but Zona and the other females must have a lot of back problems.)
May 15th, 2009 at 8:40 am
What is it that says ‘P-FOOSH!’?
Some opposition there and likely more on the background. Mentl may still be too afraid of himself to use his chanting magic… so would this be good time for Tula to fire dragonslave spell (if availalble)?
May 15th, 2009 at 9:18 am
No No, her’s how it goes.
“Hey Zona! You forgot your car keys!” “Oh, hey Keltan, would you be a dear and deal with Tall Dark and Ugly?” “Why I would be happy to.”
Giant vs Ogre round one. “Ding”
Ok, maybe not, but it’s good to see some action.
Matti, P-foosh is the torch igniting.
Keep up the great work JE.
May 15th, 2009 at 9:43 am
Y’know, I’ve always wondered the difference between ogres and trolls. That’s one damn awesome ogre.
Can’t want to see Tula in proper action!
May 15th, 2009 at 9:53 am
Macnut, Oh, and we were so looking forward to the Rabbit, weren’t we?
And just for clarification, this is no half-anything. This is a Brown Northern Forest Ogre. Not the biggest of its kind, but pretty much the dumbest and the meanest. It’s hard to suborn any ogre to work with others, but somehow Gorshash has done it.
hans, sorry. Can’t make time, space or my battered, bruised and limping hardware go any faster for ya.
Apunkalipse, good to see you again! And thanks very much for the kind woids. What will Mentl do, indeed? Is this the time when he’ll fall prey to his own inner demons, as he fears he’ll do? Or not? He doesn’t exactly look all “Van Helsing” right now, does he? (On the other hand, he never really does …)
Kamatu, No doubt Yatta-ta will show up once again with his Wile E Coyote act, but not tonight.
LN, thanks! Yeah, well, for her that’s an easy one by now. New monster pops up, Mentl of San Bernardino says, “What the …?” She knows the rest.
Uhl, Mentl fused the passage to the back door. Gorshash and his little boy scouts went out the front door. It’s taken them a couple of days to track our heroes, but ol’ One-eye is nothing if not bloody-minded and methodical.
Matti, as Lebbrin pointed out, Gorshash has just said the secret woid, and instead of a hundred dollars, his nifty skull-headed Shuach-stick primes for action - with “P-foosh!” a suitably flashy visual effect, natch. There’s no “dragonslave” spell per se in Erogenia, but Tula’s got some game, and I think we can count on seeing some of it in the next few pages.
Lebbrin, you’re very funny. At this point, however, they are two days away from the friendly giants’ cave, (at least several hours as the giant runs) and Liri and Keltan are still preoccupied with each other, though occasionally they take time out to tend to the garden. There’s a few anecdotes in that, but save it for another time.
Gemma, thanks so much! And, as I’ve alluded to in the Hot Stuff section, there are many varieties of ogres, some friendly, some not. This one’s on the Not list, I’m thinkin’. Still, you never know. It could be that Gorshash will simply magick up a tea set and buttered scones and we’ll all sit down to a genteel discussion of the situation? No?
May 15th, 2009 at 11:04 am
I can bet the giants will come and help they
May 15th, 2009 at 11:17 am
Anyone else get a Boromir flashback from Fellowship of the Rings?
“They have a *cave* troll…”
May 15th, 2009 at 11:35 am
Nah, they won’t need help. Zona can handle the ogre easy. Mentl takes down the chaff urts and Tula takes Gorshash to a draw. Given Gorshash’s mentality, he will have an ace or two up his sleeve, which probably includes “sacrifice the minions” and a getaway Of course our friends have not practiced in a group much and if Mentl gets carried away, things could get dicey. There is nothing more annoying than a mage throwing a 20′ diameter fireball in a 10×10 room…
May 15th, 2009 at 12:10 pm
Ok… so NOW we get to party!!!!! Time for some “dance” therapy. GODS it is good to have Tula back!
Nyt
May 15th, 2009 at 12:25 pm
What a cool looking monster!! I love monsters!
This next fight should be a doozy!
May 15th, 2009 at 12:59 pm
Mentl could alter the hair color in one verse of the Eagles’ “Witchy Woman” and turbo-charge Tula into a mini-superhero. Even Vito could sneak in with a “Pssst, behind you!” Oh, the possibilities.
I see Zona salivating. I see that. She’s been action deprived too long.
May 15th, 2009 at 1:12 pm
PairADice, everybody has their faves, and I’m proud of Tula.
And the wonderful thing about fantasy is that nobody has backaches, even with the over-generous endowments! And I have an excellent, excellent rationalization for it, too. I’ll publish it one day. Meantime, just accept that this is impossible, but then again, so is Milliway’s and almost entirely everything you see in comics of any kind. Me, I just put out what I like.
Well, you shall see on Tuesday. As for Zona? Man you got no idea.
T, as I said, they’re currently happily indisposed.
RedbeardJim, That was one of the better-done scenes in a sometimes fatally-flawed interpretation.
adtz, All I’m saying is that somebody’s gonna git hurted.
Nytsky, oh, yeah. You’ve never seen her really cut loose, have you? Fasten your seat belts.
Black Ethel, I’m sure they like you, too! Yeah, I think his texture came out better than I’d hoped. He’s just fuzzy enough to be a cousin to the bountiful trollops in the gallery, but obviously a lot nastier.
PoserNieub More arm-chair quarterbacking!
May 15th, 2009 at 1:50 pm
oh, I see Reverend Over-Confident is back. lessee, he’s out in the world, where Moon magic is available, facing a Moon priestess, an Erogenian swordswoman and an enchanter (whom he knows *nothing* of and probably failed to take into account).
so I forsee a really great battle scene but Reverend Dubya is gonna lose this one. I can’t wait to see the look on his face when he realizes he’s facing a real, live, real *powerful* wizard.
Tuesday can’t come fast enough…
May 15th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
Just finished reading from the beginning. It is truly a great story with great grafics, especially the faces. A lot of cg comics get them either almost blank or somewhat odd looking.
Also an interesting interpretation of an ogre, the feline look is pretty unusual.
@Gemma, and others wondering: generally, there is not exactly a difference. Ogres are often considered one kind of troll. Usually, ogres are described as almost human but really bulky. Trolls have a wide range of describtions, the the other most common stile comes in all sizes but is alway the wiry kind of strong with elongated features, especially nose, ears and arms.
May 15th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
The problem is Mentl-he’s the wild card here. The last time he used his power, while he did save his girl’s life, he also almost BBQ’d her in the process. Considering that and his already existing self-doubts, he may be more hesitant to unleash his power this time….
May 16th, 2009 at 11:31 am
Mentl probably won’t dare try “Great Balls of Fire” any time soon, but he should be able to do _something_.
It seems Gorshash has put together a standard party here. One big tank, several range hitters, one small tank to stand and die while the others run away.
May 16th, 2009 at 11:44 am
FINALLY we’re going to see Tula in real stand-up fight. Let’s see does she perform as well as Lina Inverse.
Those of you who don’t know about Lina, she is young & cute but very powerful sorceress who masters fire magic and Dragon Slave spell. She can use sword too, but that’s usually only fallback when her magic fails in “That time of month”
More info:

May 16th, 2009 at 5:04 pm
I’m guessing that the fight will be in the balance and Mentl will overcome his doubts and come in at the crucial moment.
As for trolls, they come in all flavors, from the traditional big, mean and dumb kind that are basically ogres by another name to Tad Williams pseudo Inuit, to the Dwarflike ones of “Elfquest”. and many more. Even folklore has several varieties from the big and thuggish to the small and mischievious.
May 16th, 2009 at 5:18 pm
Well ladies and Gentlemen, I think the special effects budget is about to get burned through. BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES! WE’RE GOING TO LUDICROUS SPEED!
May 17th, 2009 at 3:49 am
Definitely not an overreaction.
Beautiful and exciting page!
TUESDAY IT COMETH
May 17th, 2009 at 12:07 pm
@Stig Hemmer: oh good, I wasn’t the only one thinking of party dynamics. ^__^
AdamZero: but the satellites are jammed!
May 18th, 2009 at 8:43 am
I have been wondering if Mentl did any ac-dc covers…….does “ThunderStruck” sound useful, or maybe “TNT”……..btw I fallow over 20 different ranging from b&w to cgi and I have to say, you pull graphics as if it were ez but you also focus on character development. out of all the web comics I read truly yours is the one I always can’t wait to see what happens next. Thus, Thank you for keeping the updates rolling.
May 18th, 2009 at 11:26 am
aPrincess, Tuesday is tomorrow. Let’s see what happenz …

Keldun, I was just playing with the morphs and textures that I had lying around, as it were, and I just realized that what I came up with looks more like a Japanese Oni. Thanks for the very kind words. Hope we always live up to `em for you.
Macnut, no comment from me, but, as always, it’s cool that my little story has sparked your interest and imagination!
Stig, Are you sure you know what Gorshash has put together here? hehehehehee….
Matti, that, at least, I think you will see. Not familiar with Lina Inverse, as I’m not a big anime fan. I once tried an anime model of Zona. It didn’t really work out, so I abandoned the idea.
Tricksterson, Guess away. Time will tell.
AdamZero, LOL
Moox, thanks so very much. Tonight I finish Tomorrow’s page. Hope you all like.
Gemma, I don’t play DnD much anymore, myself. Not enough time with all this renderin’ and stuff!
Meltman, I wasn’t a heavy metal fan, and so never listened to ACDC. But, as my niece says, I need to expand my musical horizons. I listened to “”Thunderstruck” and checked the lyrics.
heh.
I like it.
And thanks once again for reading and for liking what you read. I have a whole lot of story to tell, and so now it’s a compulsion to make the pages twice a week. Now if only I could apply the same mania to getting to the gym …
May 18th, 2009 at 8:56 pm
Wonder if Mentyl knows any Alice Cooper…”Feed my Frankenstein” for example…
May 18th, 2009 at 10:43 pm
glad you liked it and I hear on the gym. btw between me and the wife there is very few bands we haven’t heard. Oh, under the threat of being mauled, I am to info you that the “queen” songs are very much enjoyed. What can I say if life were D’n'D, I married a drow and I like it that way.
May 19th, 2009 at 12:07 am
That could be a fun contest or suggestion box: songs Mentl could use for spells, and why. I’m imagining him putting entire legions of Urts to sleep with Sandman.
