Hey all!

There’s a bit of a funny story behind this installment of NIGHTMARE WORLD…

This is actually the *second* story in the series illustrated by Mark Matlock… the first being “Enjoy the Silence,” which you’ll see down the road a bit.

By the time Mark had completed “Enjoy the Silence” we had a very good working relationship together and he expressed interest in doing another story together.

Anxious to work with him again I immediately sat down and banged-out the script to “Try Honesty”… making it one of the only scripts in the history of the series that I completed in literally one sitting.

This one just fell out of me… it was crazy.

Well, when I came out of my shamanistic state of writing I e-mailed Mark to tell him that I had written another script for him — one tailored specifically and excleusively to him and his strengths — but that I wasn’t sure if he’d like it…

I really want to say more about why and how — but I’m afraid that it will give away too much of the story, so I’ll save the second half of this “Behind the Scenes” story for the Blog post that will accompany Page Eight, deal?

Until then, enjoy the story. The version before you — fully colored by Mark Matlock himself — has never been seen online before now! Huzzah!

Hey all!

I’m sorry for the lack of “Blog” posting last week… but Halloween is always a pretty busy time of the year for ol’ Dirk Manning, and as a result I just needed a few days to recover.

But… I’m back.

I hope you’re all enjoying “Not For You” thus far. As is the case with just about all of the NIGHTMARE WORLD stories, this one does indeed have some strong implications on certain aspects of “the big picture” as we go along… so pay attention and take notes.

Heck, as of this page you should now be saying to yourselves “Hey… I’ve seen these two crazy kids earlier in the series, haven’t I?”

To which Dirk Manning would say “Yes! Yes you have!”

Hey all!

For the record, to this very day I still consider this one of the single scariest stories I’ve ever written.
